ENGLISH THEATRE

New York New Delhi

On the 5th February, all Secondary students went to the theatre to watch an English play called New York, New Delhi. It was really funny and there were a lot of famous songs, but the plot wasn’t interesting enough. All of us thought that it would be different.

The play was about two people, a boy and a girl, who met at the airport. Suddenly, they heard that their flights had been cancelled. They talked a lot and they discovered that they were good friends in the past.

They remembered a lot of anecdotes: when a teacher punished them, when they went to a music concert and it was suspended or when they went to a football match and it was suspended too … It was also the perfect occasion to bring back memories of the love they both felt from the first moment they met.

During the scenes, the actors asked us for help and some volunteers helped them. When the play finished, we could ask some questions to the actors.

The scenes weren’t as good as we had expected but we spent time listening to actors speaking English and it was useful to improve our ability to understand the language.

TRIP TO IRELAND 2018

Some pupils from La Inmaculada school went to Ireland from the 21st of January to the 28th. We left Alcañiz on Sunday at 4:30 in the morning, we were very tired  but very excited. We took a plane to Dublin in Barcelona’s airport. We arrived in  Ennis at 6:00 p.m. and our host families were waiting for us; all of them were very nice.
Next day we went to the school to take an exam to know our level, that afternoon we did a tour in Ennis. The following days we had some lessons in the morning, and all the afternoons we did some activities like: visiting Cliffs of Moher, learning Irish dances, going to a disco night or going to the bowling.
On Saturday we visited Galway a very beautiful city; we did a tour and then we had some free time. On Sunday we got up early and took a bus to Dublin; it is a big city with a lot of people and shops, later we came back to Spain and our families were waiting for us, we missed them a lot.
It was a fantastic experience and another way to learn English.

THANKSGIVING DAY ESO

"Thanksgiving day" is a national holiday with religious significance in The United States, this year it was celebrated on Thursday, November 23rd.

In our lessons with Lorena,we watched some videos about this traditional festivity and then, the students from ESO  decorated the corridors with some posters where they wrote their messages giving thanks to their families, friends, God, teachers…

THANKSGIVING DAY

Last Thursday we celebrated Thanksgiving Day (November 23)
In America it´s traditionally a day for families and friends to get together for a special meal. The meal often includes a turkey, stuffing, potatoes, pumpkin pie... and vegetables.

During that week in class children knew the story about this day and learned new vocabulary with games like a bingo. Also they made a turkey manual art.
